MORE PCC DELEGATES ARRIVED

Warriors challenging the 76 PCC delegates at Honiara International airport

Around 139 delegates from all Christian religions across the Pacific as well as representatives from the World Council of Churches, United Kingdom, Germany and Switzerland are already in the country for the Pacific Conference of Church General Assembly (PCC).

On Tuesday night 79 of them arrived at the Henderson International airport and was received in a Melanesian way by the Solomon Islands Pacific Conference of Church protocol committee, warriors and panpippers.  

The weeklong conference is scheduled to begin on the 1^st of March to the 10^th.

In this conference, the participants will discuss issues affecting their life of people in this new error.

Prior to the General Assembly, women, youth and God’s Pacific people will each have Pre- assembly sessions. This is an avenue where they will be able to discuss issues such as Gender base Violence, Domestic Violence, HIV & AIDs, Climate Change that are evidently affecting the lives of Christians around the region. These issues will then be discussed in the General Assembly.

This is also an opportunity for Churches to share, strengthen and establish relationships with sister Churches around the region.

More participants are expected to arrive in the country within this week.

The week long conference opens this Sunday at the Saint Barnabas Cathedral.
