ACOM soon have nine Dioceses

Clergy of the Anglican Church of Melanesia and lay representatives of Guadalcanal Anglican Communion have agreed plans for the establishment of the Diocese of Guadalcanal in the coming year 2013.
A meeting tabled at St. Banabas Cathedral last month highlighted the growing need for Guadalcanal to become a Diocese that will be responsible for all of Guadalcanal Anglican members.
The meeting also agreed how each parish that will be part of the new Diocese will contribute towards the establishment of the Diocese especially in regards to infrastructures.
The Diocesian Electoral Board will choose the new Bishop of the Diocese on the 25th of September this year at the TNK (The Community of the Sisters of the Church).
It was also agreed in the meeting that both the Diocese of Central Melanesia and the Diocese of Central Solomons will assist with works towards the inauguration of the new Diocese.
Anglican Church of Melanesia will then have nine Dioceses upon the establishment of the Diocese of Guadalcanal.
