PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY FOR ROYAL VISIT


PREPARATION are currently underway with in the Anglican Church of Melanesia ACOM and the Government towards the visit of the TRH the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the 16th to 18th September.
Both the ACOM and the Government House are on feet to making this visit a memorable one.

Private Secretary to the Archbishop of Melanesia, Mr. Moffat Wasuka says, conversations had been made over the weeks, after the visit of the RECCE- a special team from the Royal Palace, to the Dean of the Cathedral, the Very Reverend David Nwaeramo concerning the service that would be held for an hour at the St. Barnabas Cathedral.
The service is expected to be similar to the Queen 60th Diamond Jubilee one also held at St. Banarbas Cathedral on the 4th of June, Mr. Wasuka added.

Straight from the international airport, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to be met by their Excellencies, the Governor General and Lady Kabui at the Cathedral entrance and join in procession into the Cathedral.
According to the Private Secretary to the Governor General, Mr. Nigel Maezama, a committee chaired by the secretary to the Prime Minister has already met to discuss the plans of the visit
