ARCHBISHOP HILTZ VISITS YSABEL DIOCESE

The Primate of Canada, the Most Rt. Rev Fred Hiltz and his delegates visits Diocese of Isabel on Thursday 22nd of March 2012.

The party was accompanied by the Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Melanesia, the Most Rt. Rev David Vunagi and his Wife Mary Vunagi.
His visit to the Diocese of Isabel was primarily to see the progress of the ongoing developments of the respective Diocese, funded by the Primate World Relief and Development Fund in Canada as a move towards self-reliance.
 The visited sites include Bishop Naramana Vocational Training Centre of where few Staff houses funded by the Church of Canada, developments at Gozaruru, the proposed site for Senior Secondary School, Garanga farm and to the Mano Wadrokal School of Theology and Ministry in Tasia, an island outside Buala town.


Bishop Naramana of the Diocese of Isabel described the visit as a rare experience and one that brings hope and assistance to the people of Isabel.
The Diocesan Bishop also  said “This is the second time the Primate of Canada visited the Diocese of Isabel…The first Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada to visit Diocese of Isabel was the Rt. Rev Michael Peers in 2002”.


Bishop Naramana concluded that the visit signified the ongoing support of the Church of Canada to the people and the members of the Anglican Church in Isabel since receiving financial assistance in 2005.
